Daegu University

Daegu University is a private university with campuses in Gyeongsan-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Nam-gu, Daegu, South Korea. Founded in 1950 with the spirit of “Love, Light, and Freedom,” the university was established to provide education and welfare opportunities for people with disabilities. In a time marked by poverty and the aftermath of war, Daegu University pioneered special education in Korea and adopted “welfare for all” as its educational philosophy, steadily developing over the past 60 years. Building on this tradition, in 2023 Daegu University launched the Department of Special Creative Convergence, a degree program for individuals with developmental disabilities, opening new possibilities in the field of special education. This department provides tailored educational support for individuals with developmental disabilities and symbolizes Daegu University’s ongoing commitment to education and welfare for people with disabilities.  

Catholic University

The Regular Program is a specialized Korean language preparatory course designed to enhance learners’ overall Korean communication skills. It is intended for students preparing to enter undergraduate or graduate programs at our university or other universities in Korea, as well as for learners pursuing goals in research, management, trade, employment, or entrepreneurship. The Regular Program is offered in four semesters per year—spring, summer, fall, and winter— allowing students to begin their Korean language studies at a time that best suits them. Classes are divided into Levels 1 through 4 according to the learner’s Korean proficiency. In addition, the program provides Korean language education through effective and systematic teaching methods and strives to support learners’ successful life in Korea through close and personalized student management.  

Yeungnam University

The Yeungnam University Korean Language Institute, founded in 2002, provides high-quality Korean language education for international students wishing to learn Korean. Classes are organized according to proficiency levels, allowing students to study in an optimal learning environment alongside peers from around the world under the guidance of highly qualified instructors holding Level 1 or Level 2 Korean Language Teacher Certificates. The institute offers regular courses, special courses, and short-term programs. Each 10-week term includes Korean culture and experiential programs that help students gain a deeper understanding of both the Korean language and culture. In 2007, Yeungnam University became the first university designated by the National Institute of the Korean Language as an operating institution for the King Sejong Institute, establishing and operating a Sejong Institute at Yangzhou University in China until 2017. With modern facilities and small class sizes of 10 to 14 students, the institute strives to provide an excellent learning environment. In addition to Korean language classes, students can participate in buddy programs with Korean students through the LEP program, as well as various university and local cultural events, ensuring a rewarding and fulfilling campus life.

This program is designed for overseas Koreans and international students who have completed high school or possess an equivalent level of education and wish to study Korean. Students are placed into classes based on the results of a proficiency test to ensure appropriate level placement. Experienced professional instructors, all holding a master's degree or higher in the humanities or social sciences and with extensive experience in Korean language education, conduct engaging lessons using a variety of audiovisual materials. In addition, this program offers Korean cultural experience activities to provide students with valuable opportunities to understand Korean culture. There are 4 semesters per year (10 weeks/200 hours per semester) and the classes are for 4 hours per day, 5 days  per week from Monday to Friday. -Highly experienced instructors specialized in Korean language education. -Level-based classes specialized for individual student abilities (Levels 1 to 6) -Scholorships awarded each semester to students with excellent attendance and grades. -Various cultural and social activities, including cultural experiences, international student day and sports events. -Students participation programs such as Korean Language Student Council(KSC) and social media ambassador activities. Promotion to the next level is granted to students who attend at least 80 percent of total class hours and achieve an overall grade of 70 or higher. Exceptions may be made for unavoidable circumstances such as illness or accidents. Scholarships are awarded at the end of each semester to students with outstandinig grades and attendance rate. Students who complete the semester but do not register for the following semester are not eligible for scholarships.
